NOTE: Article in Progress
Articles, book chapters, blog posts etc. are commonly used citation sources from a very long time. Considering the rapid advances in technology, use of photographs and videos has become widespread, even in the scientific community, especially for demonstrating how their proposed system works. Often these videos are posted along with an associated (research) article. Nevertheless, it is important to be able to cite these new media sources. In this article, I would like to present how such media have found a place in new articles, what are the current ways to represent these sources and how the citation metadata could be further enhanced.
Note: Abstract of this article was first written as a proposition to WikiCite 2017.
